Ashley Wiper, M.A., Lic.Ac., M.S.
Acupuncture: The Channels of Well-Being

Once a curiosity in the West, Acupuncture is now often prescribed as
part of an integrative approach to both cure and/or prevent a wide
variety of health problems.

Ashley graduated from the University of Windsor and received his
Master’s in Comparative Philosophy and Asian Studies from Brock
University. After an additional year of Chinese language and philosophy
at the University of Ottawa, he began his study of Oriental Medicine. In
1982, he received his License from the College of Traditional Chinese
Acupuncture (U.K.) and then completed additional studies in Biology,
Anatomy, and Physiology at Towson University.

In 1985, he was in the first group to be certified (by examination) by the
National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental
Medicine. He added a Master of Science degree from Drexel
University in 2005.

- How does Acupuncture work?
- How has the concept of channels and network vessels evolved through the history of Chinese Medicine?
- What scientific evidence has been found for their existence?
- What are their trajectories and what is their role in health and disease?

- Time permitting; there will be some group experiments.

- Question and Answer Discussion.

Ashley Wiper demystifies this ancient technique for achieving and maintaining a healthy body and balanced energy. We have much to learn from Chinese Medicine and he is a wonderful guide to both the simplicity and the complexity of their approach to well-being.
